What You’ll Be Doing

n

Oversee the design and review of equipment and systems using corporate standards.

n

Interface with engineers to define project scope requirements and incorporate corporate standards.

n

Collaborate with both internal and external project and resource teams to drive projects from inception to launch.

n

Evaluate new process technologies to improve existing systems and resolve process and safety problems.

n

Work with finance, production, and safety to develop justifications for capital projects and prepare the Requests for Expenditure Authorization (REAs) in a timely and accurate fashion.

n

Acquire and negotiate project contractor bids in conjunction with procurement.

n

Prepare project specifications and/or tender documents.

n

Manage release of design input to suppliers (contractors, component suppliers, etc.).

n

Perform supplier site visits to ensure compatibility of equipment designs with current plant configurations.

n

Produce site visit reports, contractor job meeting minutes, project material listings, purchase orders, installation schedules and preparation of any other documentation relating to installation of systems.

Assist in the development of new installation techniques and standards.

n

Manage capital projects meeting deadlines and budgets. Identify and effectively utilize project resources.

n

Manage the resolution of technical issues identified by suppliers.

Manage technical documents provided by suppliers.

n

Provide technical assistance to processing facilities to improve quality and efficiency. Support, manage, and facilitate continuous improvements within facility.

Minor to Moderate Supervision Required.

n

What You’ll Need To Be Successful A minimum of 3 years’ experience at a supervisory level within plant operations, preferably in a continuous Process Food Industry; an equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered for the right candidates.

n

Post‑secondary education, with focus on food science, business, agriculture, or engineering is an asset.

n

Licensed Industrial Mechanic or Electrician license is an asset.

n

A firm understanding of food safety and regulatory compliance in the food industry.

n

The ability and interest to take on progressively more responsible roles within the organization.

n

Experience in a lean manufacturing environment, with knowledge of lean tools and theories and their day‑to‑day application.

n

Strong communications skills, ability to work in a team environment in a leading and participating role. Ability to create, embrace and most importantly, lead change.

Compensation Package

$81,600.00 – $108,900.00 CAD annually + Bonus Eligibility
