Polyline Designs Inc. is a small architectural drafting and design firm based in Moncton, NB looking for a full time Architectural Technologist to join our team.

The Position:

The successful candidate will work closely with the partners and other junior staff to develop preliminary and construction drawings for projects ranging from custom residential, multi-unit residential, mixed use buildings, commercial buildings, and site plans.

Responsibilities:

- Assist and/or manage building design projects from conceptual design to construction ready drawings.
- Analyze building codes, by-laws, space, site and permit requirements, and identify potential design limitations on building designs.
- Coordinate with other consultants and contractors
- Work independently and in a collaborative environment with senior and junior staff to progress designs and solve problems.
- Complete technical drawings in AutoCad and conceptual designs using other software
- Site visits to gather existing building information, review construction progress, and prepare reports on construction
- Additional duties as determined based on the knowledge and experience of the applicant.

Qualifications:

- Diploma in Architectural Technology or similar technical diploma




- Preferred candidate to have 5 years of relevant experience in the architectural field in similar climates
- Strong understanding of the National Building Code of Canada and typical wood frame construction detailing
- Strong knowledge in AutoCad.
- Good oral and written communication skills in English
- Strong attention to detail
- Valid Drivers License and personal vehicle
- Good time management and organizational skills
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple projects

Assets:

· Relevant work experience (architectural design, construction detailing, construction review, drafting)

· Experience with Chief Architect/Home Designer, 3D modelling and rendering software such as Sketchup and Lumion, and Adobe Creative Suite

· Registration or ability to register with NBSCETT
