Suda Table is a vibrant cafe in Halifax, known for its unique fusion of traditional flavours and modern trends. We are looking for a passionate and skilled Sous-chef who can lead our kitchen in producing high-quality, handmade Korean specialty items. The ideal candidate will have a deep understanding of popular Korean cafe trends, specifically focusing on artisanal breads and traditional handmade dumplings.

[Main Duties & Responsibilities]

- Specialized Food Production: Lead the daily production of authentic, hand-crafted Mandu (Korean dumplings), including specialized dough preparation and various traditional folding techniques.
- Bakery Innovation: Develop and produce trendy Korean-style bakery items, with a primary focus on salted butter bread and other high-demand items popular in Korean cafe culture.
- Kitchen Management: Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff in the preparation, cooking, and presentation of fusion menu items.
- Quality Control: Maintain high standards of food quality,



ensuring consistency in taste and presentation for all specialty items.
- Inventory & Ordering: Assist in managing inventory and ordering specialized ingredients required for Asian-fusion recipes.
- Training: Train and mentor junior kitchen staff in specialized dough-handling and pastry techniques.

[Employment Requirements]

- Experience: 2 years to less than 3 years of professional experience in a commercial kitchen environment.
- Education: Secondary (high) school graduation certificate.
- Technical Skills:
- Proven expertise in making handmade Mandu (dough and fillings).
- Solid proficiency in baking Korean-style specialty breads.
- Knowledge of current Korean culinary and cafe trends.
- Language: English communication skills are required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $24.00-$26.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 40 per week
