About Stirling Cooperative Nursery School

We are a non-for-profit childcare organization specializing in quality childcare for children 12 months to 12 years of age.

We are currently looking for a cook to work beginning June 1, 2026.

We provide a 4-week rotational menu, changing in summer and winter. Home made, healthy options for toddler and preschool (26 children) as well as an afternoon snack for a group of school age children(up to 60). To the daycare, we serve a breakfast snack at 7:45, lunch at 11:15 and afternoon snack at 2:30. For full day programs, afternoon snack is prepared.

Must Have

-A valid Food Handlers certificate (or willingness to obtain)

-Clear Vulnerable Police Check

-Current First Aid/CPR Level C with AED

-Valid Drivers Licence

Preferred qualities

-Experience in large quantity food preparation within a daycare setting, congregate living facility, retirement residence and/or school setting

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

- Keeping your work area (entire kitchen, floors included), utensils, and product equipment in a clean, sanitized state as per Public Health requirements.

-Must be able to follow recipes, have robust menu planning skills, cook from scratch,



understand portion control, and prepare meals in a timely manner.

-Clean up after meals, this includes all dishes.

-You must create and follow a menu in accordance to Canadas Food Guide.

-Maintain a respectful work environment working alongside team members; intuitive to building positive relationships with coworkers, families, and children

-Understand dietary and allergy restrictions for individual children; plan alternative options accordingly

-Complete online grocery orders and pickup Monday mornings, gather groceries as needed throughout the week

- Ensure MSDS forms are up to date.

- Record fridge temperatures.

-Participate in quarterly professional development

**Successful candidate will work 7am to 1pm with flexibility depending on menu with on site training available.

Job Types: Permanent, Full-time

Pay: $18.00-$20.00 per hour

Expected hours: 30 – 35 per week
