Rideau Lakes Early Learning Centre seeks applications for a casual educator starting immediately

Hours: Between the hours of 6:30am-6:00pm on an on call basis

Wage range: Non-RECE $21.79 and RECE $26.30 starting hourly wage

Anticipated Start Date: Immediately

About Rideau Lakes Early Learning Centre:

Rideau Lakes Early Learning Centre has served growing families in the Township of Rideau Lakes and surrounding areas for over 40 years. We provide childcare for children ages 0-12 years, including three full-time daycare programs, two Before & After School/School Age programs, and a Nursery School program, out of four locations in the village of Elgin and town of Portland (77 Main Street Elgin, 29 Main Street Elgin, South Crosby Public School Elgin, and 2767 Hwy 15 Portland).

What you’ll do:

- Responsible for the supervision, safety, and well-being of the children, and operates in compliance with all childcare licensing standards, Child Care and Early Years Act, Public Health standards, and Centre policies and procedures.
- Recognizes and responds to the needs of each child following the centre's program statement, policies and procedures, and developmentally appropriate teaching and child behaviour management techniques.
- Shares in the responsibility for planning, preparing, and implementing stimulating, age-appropriate activities that encourage children’s creativity and learning and promote each child’s social, emotional, cognitive, and physical development using CCEYA requirements and ELECT documents.
- Observes and records relevant information on each child's progress to ensure all developmental needs are being met as required/as per Centre practices.
- Establishes and maintains regular communication with parents
- Ensures all play environments, equipment or toys are maintained in good condition through regular inspection and reporting to Site Supervisor




- Shares responsibility for maintaining the play environments and storage areas in an organized and clutter-free condition and assists with toy/equipment disinfecting.
- Participates fully and consistently as a conscientious team member; maintains regular and open communication with other staff, attends and actively participates in staff meetings or training
- If RECE Participates in ongoing professional development and maintains membership in positive standing of the College of Early Childhood Educators of Ontario

What we’re looking for:

- If RECE Early Childhood Education diploma or provincially recognized equivalent
- If RECE Registered member in good standing of the College of Educators of Ontario
- Valid Standard First Aid and Level “C” CPR
- Negative criminal record check with vulnerable sector check
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- Understanding of Child Care and Early Years Act
