JOB DESCRIPTION

Position Summary:

The Research and Academics Department at Ontario Shores is seeking a Research Assistant. As part of a research team, this position will provide support and assistance to staff within the Research and Academics Department and other researchers across the Centre.

Reporting To The Director, Research And Academics, The Research Assistant’s Duties And Responsibilities May Include, But Not Be Limited To:

- Performing literature searches
- Protocol development
- Preparing REB submissions
- Consenting research participants
- Administering questionnaires and other internal and external data collection instruments including, but not limited to telephone interviews, face to face patient/staff interview, printed surveys, electronic surveys, and focus groups
- Coding and data entry
- Managing administrative aspects and records management of research projects
- Other supporting activities
- Previous experience interacting with individuals with dementia is an asset
- Minimum 2 years of experience administering clinical and cognitive assessments to research participants (e.g. the CMAI, NPI, ADAS-Cog, MMSE, SCID, etc.)
- Experience working on clinical trials is an asset

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in health related field (master’s degree an asset)
- Demonstrated ability to use statistical software packages for data entry,



data manipulation and data analysis
- Demonstrated ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Demonstrated success in effectively organizing and prioritizing work assignments
- Timely feedback and reporting of completion or challenges of assigned tasks
- Detailed and results oriented
- Enthusiastic about doing research
- Ability to flex hours occasionally based on work demands
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively in a diverse work setting
- Ability to build rapport with patients

Skills:

- Excellent communication (written and verbal) and interpersonal skills
- Advanced computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Office e.g. Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Access
- Knowledge of SPSS

Travel Between Scarborough And Durham Is Required

Hourly wage: $27.15 - $31.94
