OpportunitynnAt Pier 4 our portfolio of multi-family real estate assets is growing and as a result we are looking for an experienced Painter, to join our team in Southwestern Ontario, currently with buildings in Kitchener, Cambridge and Guelph. We are looking for a Painter who wants to be part of our exciting journey and is truly engaged in being an advocate of and executing, best-in-class painting and property maintenance.nnAt Pier 4 we aspire to be the leaders in this space and at the same time we are grounded by years of expertise in property management, relationship-oriented business practices and a drive for continuous improvement. We maintain our properties with a focus on revitalization to assure our residents feel comfortable in their homes.nThe Painter, reports to the Property Manager and is accountable for painting and preserving the condition of properties. Our Painters are polite and qualified. They can work independently and stay focused on a task for several hours at a time. They can also stay on their feet and do physical work for most of each day.nnResponsibilitiesnnPreparing surfaces for painting by washing, scraping, sanding, and patchingnApplying paint on interior and exterior surfacesnRemoving old paintnFilling holes and sealing cornersnn· Protecting surfaces from water damage, mold, and other hazards through the use of primers and other coatingsnnMoving ladders, paint cans, and other painting equipmentnFinding ways to reduce the costs of equipment and suppliesnKeeping work areas neat and cleannChecking inventory,



and requesting paint and other supplies when needednConsulting with Property Managers and other Maintenance TechniciansnProviding general aesthetic maintenancenCleaning up job sites and disposing of waste materials properlynOwn work vehiclenAbility to follow and complete a daily, weekly & monthly task schedulenBasic understanding of all applicable laws, legislation and rights concerning residents/landlord relations.nAvailable for on-call duties, evenings and weekends. Hours may change based on operational needs.nWilling to travel to/among various locations within Southwestern Ontario.nnnnEducation, Experience and QualificationsnnPresent self in a manner that demonstrates the Pier 4 values of Professionalism, Integrity, Excellence and Respect.nProven relevant painting skills.nExperience in Commercial painting is required.nComfortable working from heights i.e. exterior building painting and balconiesnExperience painting different surfaces i.e. Line painting/exterior building paintingnKnowledge and experience with exterior painting for low rise residential properties.nExcellent communication, customer service, and organizational skills required.nAbility to problem-solve, multi-task and remain detail-oriented.nAbility to work independently as well as within a team.nAbility to lift up to 50lbs.nPossess and maintain a valid Ontario G Driver’s license in good standing (clean driver’s abstract)nEligible to work in Canada (will be subject to a criminal background check).nHigh School Diploma and 5+ years of work-related experience.nWHMIS training, knowledge of applicable legislation respecting residential tenancies in Ontario and the rights and obligations of Landlords and Tenants an asset.nGood planning and organizational skillsnKnowledge of paint and how to use common painting toolsnPlenty of attention to detailn
