Purpose:Working with the gallery staff, the Young Canada Works AGYU Summer Collections Assistant will undertake and implement a range of activities relating to the functioning of a contemporary gallery, including duties related to the maintenance, management, and care of our permanent collection of art. The role will gain invaluable skilled experience in database management, art collections management, and an understanding of a public art gallery. This position is part of a Youth Canada Workers in Heritage Organizations Program.Education:Undergraduate or graduate students from an arts-related field (art history, visual arts, museum studies, cultural studies, communications, or related discipline).Experience:Work experience in a contemporary art gallery or museum will be considered an asset.Skills:Research and organizational skills, including various computer applications, will be required Excellent verbal and written communications skills in English.
