Job Description

Core Engineering and Architecture is a new and exciting software development team at Manulife and is the foundation of Manulife’s digital transformation. We are striving to create leading, mobile and web experiences that enables our customers to choose how, when and where they want to engage with their financial services. You will join the Core Engineering and Architecture team as we build our new Digital Garage where teams are working together to shape what it means to have a great customer experience and build awesome solutions that will delight all Canadians. Our Garage promotes collaboration across our agile teams with the use of modern tools, platforms, and services.

To be successful in this role, you will have strong Business acumen with a technical background and have the ability to grasp abstract concepts and communicate them to others at all levels of the organization in a way that is easy to understand. You are able to work independently, and given only a high-level description of the business challenge, are able to investigate and articulate potential solutions, achieving buy-in from stakeholders across the organization.

As the Salesforce Functional Analyst, you will:
Work with business stakeholders and subject matter experts to discover, define, assess, and document business needs and requirements utilizing established artifacts and methods within both agile and waterfall processes.
Establish and facilitate working groups, JAD sessions, brainstorming sessions to gather requirements.
Engage in prioritization and problem-solving with technical resources in order to deliver robust solutions as quickly as possible
Manage relationships and expectations with their stakeholder counterparts, moving to a one team approach over time
Enable agile delivery through the definition and training of engineering practices and approaches, in partnership with product enablement
Collaborate with software engineers and engineering leadership to uncover pain points and opportunities to accelerate the delivery of new business value through platforms and software
Good understanding of the products and their business flows with a high-level understanding of the underlying technologies and how they integrate with each other.

You will be working with:
Development teams that use Salesforce and other similar technologies
Business teams including Product Owners supporting them to define and prioritize user stories
