Position summary.

The Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for adhering to programs, policies, and practices that ensure all Business Unit activities are in compliance with Health Canada regulations by working with Regulatory/Global Stewardship to ensure that ongoing regulatory compliance is maintained. Responsibilities include CDU (Canadian Document control Unit) management, finished product release, manage deviations and up-to-date operational procedures/processes, manage testing sample and support customer/consumer complaints.

Key responsibilities:
Finished product release meets business needs; this includes frequent communication with co-packers to ensure compliance.
All out of spec and/or deviations are investigated and driven to root cause
Corrective/preventive actions implemented for all required out of spec and/or deviations
SOP's current and compliant with Health Canada requirements on new and existing products.
Oversee management of controlled documents for quality. Support document formatting and reviews by following good documentation practices and document change control procedures.
Support change management procedures in collaboration with project managers.
Finished product release process meets Regulatory requirements.
Assist with customer and consumer complaints
Track product release, consumer/customer complaint and other QA status

Years and Type of Experience:
2+ years Quality or Regulatory experience with Health Canada compliance requirements, quality systems/tools, finished product release, and document control.
Knowledge of Health Canada requirements associated with self-care products. Natural Health Products (NHPs)
Proficient in release process for finished products (in Canada)
Skills and Abilities

Strong planning and organizational skills with great attention to detail
Ability to work independently as well as collaborate with business and functional teams
Flexibility to support multiple initiatives at a time
Strong problems solving skills (issue resolution, and root cause analysis).
Strong written and verbal business communication.

Education Level/Degree:
Bachelor's degree in a technical field
