Gaming Policy and Enforcement (GPEB) regulates all gaming in British Columbia, ensures the integrity of gaming industry companies, people and equipment, and investigates allegations of wrongdoing. This includes regulatory oversight of the British Columbia Lottery Corporation (which conducts and manages lotteries, casinos, community gaming centres and commercial bingo halls), B.C.'s horse racing industry, and licensed gaming events. GPEB also delivers responsible and problem gambling programs.

The Licensing,

Registration and Certification Division (LRC) is responsible for maintaining the integrity of gaming in B.C. through registering companies and individuals involved in gaming, a rigorous review and certification process for gaming supplies and equipment, and the licensing of charitable gaming events.

The Corporate Compliance Clerk is responsible for reviewing legislation, standards and policies related to applications for senior officials/employees and gaming services provider registration within established criteria or recommends the appropriate action to senior staff and/or management. The position receives reviews and validates incoming applications, clarifies information with clients, and ensures that sufficient information has been provided to make a determination. The position also tracks corporate applications, application fees, annual registration fees and background investigation costs and is responsible for reconciling and depositing fees received for LRC. The Corporate Compliance Unit oversees the Project Trust fund used for investigative and associated expenses, fee collection and reconciliation of approximately $2.3M annually.

Job Requirements:
In order to be considered for this position, your application must clearly demonstrate how you meet the education and experience as outlined below:

Secondary School Graduation or equivalent (GED); and preferable post-secondary courses in accounting, accounts receivable, revenue administration and/or basic controls, business or secretarial.
Demonstrated experience with word processing and database applications.
Experience providing client service in an adversarial environment.
Experience applying legislation and regulations.
A minimum of 2 years’ experience in clerical and accounting or financial management; experience in word processing, spreadsheets, and other standard computer applications (e.g. databases, internet, etc.).
Experience providing client service by telephone and via email in a high-volume environment subject to frequent interruptions and strict deadlines.
Experience interpreting and applying legislation, guidelines, policy, procedures and financial statements.
Experience with records management practices and procedures; experience identifying, classifying, and integrating materials into filing systems and databases; arranging for off-site storage and disposal of records in accordance with records management standards.
