To deliver on its vision to be our clients’ preferred capital markets banking partner across multiple products and services, both in Canada and where our core competencies can be exported. The Capital Markets mission is to bring Canadian Capital Markets products to Canada and the rest of the world, and also bring the world to Canada. This position is responsible for supporting the development and growth of the Capital Markets Trade Finance business. This role will work closely with Global Trade and Banking Relationship Managers, Corporate Coverage, Financials & Public Sector Group and Trade Finance Operations, including Technology How You’ll Succeed 1. Product Management Responsible for all aspects of CIBC’s Approved Payables Finance (“APF”) solution including P&L; management Provide bank-wide subject matter expertise on APF Further develop and lead an appropriate go to market/roll out strategy Partner with the Trade Sales team to develop suitable internal as well as external educational and marketing material Leverage technology in order to simplify and scale the APF business, as appropriate Develop and implement appropriate product pricing strategies and return metrics Ensure product compliance with all internal as well as external requirements, guidelines, regulations as appropriate Work closely with the Operations team to develop various client and supplier on-boarding processes Support existing customer transition to CIBC’s new trade finance software platform 2. Marketing Support & Execution Work closely with the Trade Sales team and various Relationship Managers to identify & prioritize high value opportunities aligned with the product strategy Provide support and analysis to the Sales Team in deal origination Complete deal due diligence, understand operational requirements and structure transactions accordingly Negotiate legal documentation with legal counsel (internal & external) Work closely with Operations to ensure appropriate deal implementation and seamless customer experience 3. Product Expansion & Partnerships Identify organic & in-organic growth opportunities to expand the APF solution Critically evaluate the APF landscape to identify key bank, non-bank competitors and partners Outline CIBC’s strategy vis-à-vis key bank, non-bank competitors and partners In response to customer demand, structure a handful of partnerships to enhance CIBC’s product suite and expand CIBC’s geographic reach Who You Are Values matter to you. Familiarity with different trade finance needs and custom solutions in high growth markets around the world. Knowledge. Advanced knowledge of Supply Chain Finance solutions. Advanced knowledge of risk mitigation products used in the business of trade finance. Knowledge of products, services and capabilities offered by the CIBC group of companies. Detailed knowledge of international markets, economies and financial systems. Communication. Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to build and maintain relationships both internally and external. Strong presenting, influencing and negotiating skills with the ability to convey conceptual information in closing or assisting others to close deals. Technical.
