Must be able to adhere to ad maintain strict compliance with company policies and procedures, established health and safety protocols, and all applicable local, provincial and federal regulations.
Qualifications: • 2-3 years experience of operating vacuum trucks or similar equipment • A valid operating license - Class 1 or 3 • Successful completion of a pre-employment background check, driver’s abstract and substance abuse screening test • A strong work ethic and reliability
Responsibilities: • Execution of field work while under direct or indirect supervision. This may include utility line exposure, debris removal, slot trenching and digging, excavation of sensitive underground piping and cables.
• Drive an average of 60% of the time as well as work onsite as part of a team. • Participate in all pre-job hazard assessments and inspections prior to commencing any job. • Correct completion of all job-specific paperwork including Daily Tailgate/Hazard Assessments, FLHAs, Driver’s Logs, Pre/Post Vehicle Inspections, Hourly Time Tickets. • Provide leadership and coaching to subordinates through mentoring. • Work safely during all phases of performing the job duties required in the field. • Set up and inspect grounding and/or bonding procedures for hydrovac operations. • Ability to follow directions; read/speak and understand English; read and understand common danger placards/labels and hazardous warning literature including site safety plans. • Must be able to understand and comply with company and client safety standards. • Project work may require travel out of home town for two weeks or more. • Work outside year-round in all types of weather. • Ability to perform work inside areas of varying dimensions, involving squatting and crawling for possible extended periods. • May work in environments that are extreme in nature or environmental conditions such as heat, cold, heights, confined spaces, hazardous areas, loud noises, dangerous equipment, long hours, etc. • May be exposed to varying levels of physical activities and physical extremes such as long periods of standing, walking, crouching, use of hands, heavy lifting of up to 50 pounds or more. • Maintain and use appropriate personal protective equipment. • Must always be clean shaven to allow for immediate donning and seal of respirator equipment if necessary.
Driving: • Operate trucks and equipment in a safe and professional manner. • Responsible for log book on a day to day basis. • The ability to safely drive and perform safety checks on all vehicles for which licensed. Report any deficiencies to the manager. • Responsible for driving according to the rules and regulations of the road and driving accordingly to weather conditions. • Responsible for proper load securement of any hoses, chemical pails or other equipment. • Responsible for transporting, loading and offloading of fluids at different locations.
Housekeeping: • All crew members are responsible for proper clean up of rig when a job is complete. • All crew members are responsible for maintaining, re-stocking, and cleaning when equipment returns to the yard. • All crew members are responsible for maintaining a clean work environment in the field. Daily garbage runs, clean up of tooling, maintaining a clean truck clear of debris.
