The Opportunity: Our client, a growing animal healthcare services provider, is looking to add a General Manager to their team in Newmarket, On. Reporting into the



Area Manager, Specialty Hospitals, this individual would be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of a multi vet, 24 hour emergency, specialist and referral hospital, developing and introducing effective management systems in order to facilitate growth, and manage existing operations. What You'll



Be Doing: Develop an efficient, productive client service oriented team that provides the highest quality care and service, follows all protocols and practices, and focuses the team to achieve practice priorities.

Provide effective communication between and ensure hospital delivers outstanding financial results and maximizes growth through short and long term objectives and effective budgets for the hospital. Facilitates in the growth of the client base by assessing, developing and implementing new programs, as well as assuring client satisfaction at all times.



Supervise the scheduling of clinic staff to effectively meet client needs. Coordinate all clinic maintenance and warranty programs for equipment in the hospital. Select, train and supervise clinic staff to ensure exceptional medical care, quality client service and maximum productivity and to enable team members to grow and develop professionally within the practice.



Ensure staff management through coaching, reviews, evaluation and mentoring, including coordination of continuing education programs to assist in achieve objectives. Ensure adherence to all hospital policies, procedures, protocols and ethics. Maintain and promote confidentiality relating to all hospital, client and pet dealings.



Ensure that: all required weekly,

monthly and yearly reports are prepared and submitted as per timetable and that fee schedules are maintained and updated as per policy. Maintain inventory and related computer systems Conduct physical inventory counts as per schedule. Ensure Accounts receivables are maintained and hospital credit policies are implemented, monitor compliance.



Adequate maintenance of the hospital and all equipment is completed on a regularly maintained schedule. Develop yearly budget and business plans in conjunction with the leadership team/regional leadership team. Participate in regular meetings with leadership team to review hospital budget and business plan progress.



Actively monitor and minimize expenses. Ensure financial targets and benchmarks are achieved. Collaborate with the leadership team to recruit and lead a high performance team using effective leadership,

coaching and performance management practices and techniques.



Manage salary expectations and salary increases Manage any performance or disciplinary issues, following protocols for documentation. Conduct employee termination meetings if necessary. Mediate personal grievances and disputes.



Monitor job descriptions and checklists for each position in the Hospital. Manage time off requests and shift coverage. Strive in all aspects to enhance the client experience.



Collaborate with the leadership team to resolve client concerns. Maintain excellent client communication, including welcome letters, reminders, callbacks, etc. Work cohesively and effectively with hospital medical director to carry out and implement local and leadership initiatives.



Collaboratively prepare and implement organizational improvement, training and problem solving consistent with,

and in concert to achieve, the vision of the hospital. Responsible for overseeing implementation timelines and resource management. Project a positive clinic image.



What You'll Need



To Be Successful: Strong organizational skills with the ability to work effectively under pressure with multiple assignments within tight deadlines; Experience leading a diverse team of staff; A hands-on professional with the ability to provide professional judgment. Excellent written and verbal communication skills; and, Excellent quantitative and analytical skills.



Enjoy working with people and animals. Strong affinity for being a team leader. Ability to work independently and be a self-starter.



Have experience leading; supervising, and managing staff in a positive proactive fashion. Understand the importance of exemplary customer service,

while still focusing on productivity, maximizing efficiencies and profitability. Be comfortable around and have an affinity for animals.



Able to develop and implement annual budgets, strategic plans and new systems to promote company growth. Demonstrate a strong ability to identify, analyze and solve problems in all aspects of the business. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.



Ability to read and interpret financial documents. Demonstrated ability and exposure to financial planning. Ability to teach, delegate and give direction to others.
