Position Description De Havilland Training is a world-class training centre that strives to provide the highest quality of training in the aviation industry. We are the worlds only operator of a DHC-6 Series 400 Twin Otter Level-D Full Flight Simulator and provide training to Twin Otter pilots from all around the world.



The Twin Otter Instructor is responsible for delivering high quality training to pilots of varied experience levels. This role requires the candidate to meet the standards of De Havilland Training and to ensure that the needs of the client are fully met while complying with all regulatory requirements. The candidate will be expected to provide theoretical and practical training in the Full Flight Simulator, Flat Panel Trainer, and classroom.



Candidates must be comfortable with shift work to accommodate operations in a training centre that may active up to 24 hours per day. Although the company aims to schedule flying annually for all instructors to maintain their skills, this is not a flying position, and the candidate must be comfortable with extended periods without actual flying.

Reporting Relationships Reports directly to the Training Manager, and ultimately to the



General Manager Training and Simulation. Requirements: ATPL and valid medical. 3000+ hours total time.



1000 hours PIC multi-engine. Glass cockpit and FMS experience. DHC-6 Twin Otter experience an asset.



Seaplane experience an asset. A verifiable history of work in an instructional capacity (instructor rating, training department member, Pilot Examiner, Approved Check Pilot, etc.). Desire to work in an aviation training role in a classroom/simulator capacity.



Excellent communication skills and ability to work well with people in a dynamic environment. Intermediate or better general computer operation skills (Microsoft Office, etc.)

*Note Specific extraordinary skill contributions will warrant hiring consideration even if particular Minimum requirement is not met. Specific Accountabilities include: Execution of the day-to-day instructing operations in a way that meets the expectations of internal and external customers.



Understands the client mission requirements and works to provide creative solutions and options to meet the training requirements. Performs training activities so that De Havilland Training fully meets all regulatory requirements. Perform other service-related duties for customers on an as needed basis.



Ensure the classroom and simulator facilities are kept in a state of readiness which meets the high standards of De Havilland Training. Complete all required documentation in a timely manner. Support and implement the De Havilland Training strategic and business objectives.



Contribute positively to the culture, growth and strategic direction of the companies.

Attend and participate in a variety of professional and instructor development programs. Maintain any professional certifications (licenses, ratings, etc.) to perform the duties of the position.



Assisting the training team in research and development of advanced training products. Participation in a quality assurance program that involves detailed recordkeeping, survey delivery/participation, and continuous improvement both for the students, and as a staff member. Participate willingly in training standards assessment reviews.



Guidelines for these reviews will follow the ICAO instructor competencies form. Other duties as assigned by the Training Manager or General Manager.
