Were looking for a Business Process Analyst. The work location for this position is Burnaby, British Columbia, and is eligible for a hybrid work arrangement.
The Opportunity: The Business Process Analyst is responsible for contributing to the overall success of Ritchie Bros. Financial Services (RBFS) by managing and supporting business systems and IT- related change projects that support RBFS objectives. Specifically, this role will be responsible for working with business users to identify and document requirements, researching opportunities and solutions, supporting development and testing teams, and reporting on post-implementation process and performance changes.
The Business Process Analyst is expected to share responsibility, along with the Project Manager and Product Manager, for the delivery of all IT and systems related projects. In this role youll: Determine and document requirements and recommendations for solutions based on the analysis of business needs, objectives,
and existing enterprise architecture Understand and evaluate business processes to develop requirements to support the business needs. Define as-is and to-be processes, perform gap analysis and work with the team to devise an action plan to address the needs.
Coordinate and oversee User Acceptance Testing activities for the business. Ensure the IT and system products supports the companys overall strategy and goals. Support strategic product roadmap developments and product feature definitions.
Support other development and testing teams in the successful development and delivery of new products, features, and enhancements. Heres what you bring:
Minimum 3-5 years Business Analyst and/or Project Management experience - Financial Services or Digital Marketplace environment preferred.
Excellent core Business Analyst / fundamental Project Management skills. University degree required in the field of business administration, computer science, finance, or management information systems or equivalent. Comprehensive understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) processes and tools, with specific experience in Agile SDLC.
Ability to gather, organize and assess data. Ability to manage multiple assignments with competing priorities by continuously re-evaluating project statuses, identifying issues and risks, suggesting ways to mitigate them and escalating when necessary. Excellent verbal and written communication skills to understand and capture requirements and interact with business and technical stakeholders to plan and initiate the implementation of appropriate solutions.
Technical writing experience is an asset. Experience in creating status reports. Experience working with development/support teams.
Experience with Salesforce platform and products is preferred. In addition, the following characteristics are essential: Highly motivated, established work ethic, attention to detail. Ability to motivate others to contribute to research and change requirements.
Ability to hold project team members accountable for deliverables. Interest in software development processes, customer centric technologies and innovations. Interest in interacting with end users, 3rd parties and business leaders.
This job will require you to: Assess and analyze business problems and work with business users to develop recommendations for product improvement.
Work closely with business users to determine requirements and recommendations for solutions based on the analysis of business needs, objectives, and existing enterprise architecture. Write requirement specifications according to industry standards, using natural language; simple, clear, unambiguous, complete, appropriate, concise, and verifiable.
Work closely with the IT Architecture team to ensure the alignment between IT solutions and business needs. Work closely with the development and quality assurance teams to ensure requirements are translated accurately into working functional and technical designs and that test plans/scripts serve business needs. Coordinate and participate in successful User Acceptance Testing for the business.
Analyze business issues and challenges and participate in business process and business systems initiatives to improve business performance.
Participate in the cost-benefit analyses for proposed changes to facilitate management in making implementation decisions. Build relationships with internal and external customers leveraging communication and presentation skills.
Monitor process performance (before and after implementation) and make appropriate recommendations for product improvement. Support the Product Manager with the development and management of product roadmaps. Identify new opportunities and work with the business users to recommend new areas of product development.
Act as a strong communicator and advocate for change that results from process improvement and project work; includes stakeholder analysis, and communications planning. Able to work with clients at all organizational levels to define business processes and provide advice on systems.
