Summary The Vice President of Operations will be responsible for contributing to the successful operation of Goemans Appliances and for providing regular reports on the organization's progress to the President. As a member of the Senior Management Team, the Vice President of Operations shall participate in the development of Goemans Appliance's strategy, priorities and objectives. Job Duties Implement corporate policies, procedures, and organizational structure for the assigned operating unit within the framework of corporate policy. Provide technical support to projects from an operational standpoint. Assist in the development and ensure compliance of the operational units' short-term and long-term goals with overall corporate objectives.
Oversee the following areas: distribution, transportation, installation, customer service, order fulfillment, and quality assurance. Integrate and align the Operations Strategic Agenda with Goemans' overall and other function heads. Plan, staff, and supervise all assigned work unit activities through subordinate managers to ensure cohesive operations. Provide advice, guidance, and direction to managers for their professional development. Coordinate and confer with professional staff to resolve operating problems and difficulties, and authorize department operational procedures within the corporate framework. Manage in-house support staff, consultants and vendors Negotiate contracts with third party logistics providers Manage the development, implementation and tracking of Goemans' annual budgeting process. Such budgets shall be in sufficient depth to form the basis for the planning process and for financial performance comparisons Coordinate with the President to monitor the activities of Goemans Appliances Identify and analyze information to give early warnings of potential problems and recommend corrective action Oversee office space and office systems needs, purchase equipment, support hiring processes, manage ADP, reimburse expenses, secure insurance, etc. Oversee compliance with Goemans' Staff Policies and Procedures Manual, and recommend additions to, and/or modification of the Manual and other operating policies and procedures of Goemans in conjunction with other members of the Senior Management Team. Manage, in conjunction with the Senior Management Team, scheduling and performance of annual employee performance reviews Have primary profit/loss responsibility for assigned operational units. Perform additional assignments as required based on the needs of the Operational unit, Company, or as directed by the President. Requirements 4 year business administration degree or equivalent An MBA preferred 10 years progressive management experience in business operations preferably in the retail industry, appliance industry an asset Experience in managing 3PLs Transportation management experience ($10m+) Demonstrated ability to manage, grow and deliver on a P&L; ($10m+) Experience in dealing with trades or regulatory compliance Experience in managing a multi-level organizational chart Leadership experience in addressing employees at town halls, large staff meetings etc. Demonstrated ability to read, interpret financial documents and spreadsheets, and link them to underlying operational drivers (metrics)
