Maternity Leave Cover 18 months The seasonal display supervisor leads the department that provides special displays and seasonal decor to our clients. They are responsible for creating fabulous custom displays which offer our clients best value and impact for their investment.



The supervisor will manage the process of executing designs from concept, pricing and sourcing through to creation and installation. The supervisor will be a strong communicator who provides clear leadership and direction during a time-sensitive holiday dcor installation schedule. They will be calm and efficient under pressure: methodical, a quick-thinking problem solver.



On the creative side,

strong design skills and confidence working in large commercial spaces is required. The supervisor will have an eye for detail, colour and spacing. They will expect quality work of themselves and the team.



They will research and keep up with industry trends and take initiative to implement new ideas and fresh designs. This is a full-time, permanent position. Regular hours are 40/week.



During the peak installation seasons, weekend work and after-hours work is required. Installation and teardown seasons run 6 days/week, Tuesday through Sunday until installations are complete. The holiday dcor installation season requires this commitment from November 12 through the first week of December, then again during teardown for the first three weeks of January.



This firm commitment to seasonal overtime is key to the role. Some flexibility of hours is negotiable during the off-season. During peak seasons the supervisor will coordinate teams of various sizes according to days requirements (3-10 people).



During off-season the supervisor oversees 1-2 part-time assistants. Key tasks: Research,

design and execute the production and installation of special and seasonal displays including holiday decor, moss art, moss walls, colour bowls, blooming colour rotations, faux botanicals, custom branch displays, special events, short-term rentals. Accurately calculate and source material requirements for seasonal displays.



Ensure all equipment and supplies required are well-stocked and available as needed, well maintained and properly stored when not in use. Assist the sales team with client and site visits, design recommendations and calculating pricing. Engage with clients directly as required for special projects and custom dcor.



Plan, schedule, co-ordinate and execute installation schedules. Oversee the moss art maintenance schedule. Provide installation schedules to clients as requested.



Follow up after installations. Supervise and schedule staff assigned to the seasonal display department,

including training, mentorship, performance development, and performance management. Ensure that the work of any assistants is compliant with company standards.



Work with management to anticipate and manage staffing needs. Participate in the recruitment of staff as needed. Collaborate with other department managers and supervisors to utilize existing employees and resources efficiently for production, projects and installations.



Work with interior and urban exterior departments to develop new & innovative products, displays and installations. Off-season duties may include: oAssist with special projects and work orders. oAssist other departments with general core business such as plant preparation, installing replacements, horticultural maintenance and installations.





oAssist the Urban Exterior department during peak installation seasons such as spring planting, acting as a crew leader as needed. oAssist other departments with research & development of new products. Technical competencies and experience: Supervisory and operational experience.



Experience in a related field. Strong customer service, interpersonal, organizational and communication skills. Oral and written communication appropriate to our corporate client base.



Sound administration skills. Competent working knowledge and operation of Microsoft Office products. Able to adapt to and effectively operate scheduling programs and apps.



Clean Alberta Drivers Licence Rate of pay from $24.00/hour, depending on experience and qualifications. While this is a fixed term contract for maternity leave cover,
