Child Care Provider



PRIMARY FUNCTION:

Reporting to the Recreation Programmer/Recreation Coordinator, the Child Care Provider is responsible for planning, organizing and implementing a high quality program that is stimulating and enjoyable for all participants. Responsible for the safety and wellbeing of registered participants at all times.



Position Duties:

Plan, organize and deliver high quality safe and stimulating care for all levels of participants



Provide a high level of front line customer service including greeting and engaging participants

Communicate with parents in regards to program opportunities

Maintain complete vigilance while on duty and be ready to respond to any emergency situation

Complete administrative duties in a timely manner (eg. attendance, incident/accident reports, opening and closing procedures)

Maintain a safe, hygenic and tidy program space ensuring equipment is set-up and stored appropriately

Report all concerns, accidents and incidents to immediate supervisor for follow up and take appropriate action

Maintain an understanding of department programs and services

Understand, adhere to, and enforce Corporate Policies & Procedures, Confidentiality Guidelines, Emergency Procedures and Health and Safety Standards for all participants and staff

Attend meetings/training as required

Performs other duties as assigned



SELECTION CRITERIA:

Minimum 16 years of age

Experience working with infants and children

Current Standard First Aid / CPR C from an accredited organization, or ability to obtain within 1 month of date of hire

Babysitter course or certification, considered an asset

High Five Principles of Healthy Child Development or Sport Certification, considered an asset

Exceptional customer service and communication skills



**Various tests and/or exams may be administered as part of the selection criteria.



Job status: Part-time



Hourly rate: $15.00

Preference will be given to students that have a permanent residency in Brampton.



In accordance with the City of Brampton’s Vaccination Administrative Directive, new employees are required to disclose their vaccination status and provide proof of full vaccination* before their start date. Employees who are unvaccinated or do not disclose their vaccination status will be required to:



a) complete the City of Brampton’s mandatory learning regarding COVID-19 vaccination; and



b) take regular COVID-19 tests prior to attending the workplace. Employees must demonstrate a negative COVID-19 test result in order to attend the workplace.

- Fully vaccinated means the two-week anniversary after receiving a vaccination series approved by Health Canada or the World Health Organization.
