As the Chief Operating Officer, you will be second in command to our award-winning female founder Claudia Sjoberg. You will be an integral part of the collaborative process for drafting the strategic plan and help execute and integrate the President's vision of growth and leadership when it comes to brand experience. You will lead a dedicated and capable team of professionals who are responsible for Operations, Marketing,, Human Resources, Customer Care, Finance and Information Technology. You will love what you do and act as a Pedalheads champion - aligning company culture, operations, and vision. You will also thrive as a champion of process improvement and ensure the long-term scalability of the business while mentoring, leading, and collaboratively supporting the team that manages the day-to-day program operations.

You will develop operational structures, systems and long-term business strategies that support current and potential business requirements and secure the functionality of the business to drive extensive and sustainable growth. This includes working with the Controller to develop and report on meaningful performance indicators and metrics, while always looking for new trends in the numbers and providing projections that are critical to the planning and envisioning process.

You'll be working very hard between April and September when most of our programs are ramping up or are up and running. Then between October and March, your role allows for time to slow down, reflect, rejuvenate, plan, and implement continuous improvement strategies, projects and processes.

Responsibilities and Accountabilities

Owning and driving the goals of our strategic plan: smart growth, customer obsessed, magnet culture and flawless execution;

Overseeing day-to-day operations and working collaboratively with team leaders and subject matter experts to design, execute and evaluate actionable business strategies, plans and procedures;

Leading, motivating, and mentoring other employees in order to integrate and align the goals, values and priorities of the business's essential functions (Customer Care, Marketing, Human Resources, Finance, Operations, and Information Technology);

Evaluating business performance by analyzing and interpreting data and metrics;

Reviewing and analyzing internal operations and identifying areas for process improvement or enhancement;

Managing fleet operations and capital purchases;

Negotiating and managing regional office leases;

Managing a team of direct reports including members of the Leadership team.


You are a seasoned Leader and Operations professional with experience in senior leadership roles where you managed people, strategy and operations. You have a strong understanding of all business functions such as Human Resources, Marketing, Finance, Quality Control and Risk Reduction, Information Technology and Customer Service. And, you have demonstrated experience managing the day-to-day operations in a high volume and high growth environment with a focus on customer satisfaction.

Preferred Education and Experience

Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or another relevant degree or diploma (an MBA is an asset)

Minimum of ten (10) years of business operations and diverse people management experience, which includes at least five (5) years in a senior leadership role

Extensive experience with process mapping and process improvement methodologies such as Six Sigma

Extensive experience and knowledge with information technology management is an asset

High level of competency with MS Office Suite including Excel

Senior manager level financial and data analysis skills

Even though you know a lot, you're respectful and appreciative of subject matter experts and those who were here before you. Please remember that much of our work is seasonal. While we care about work-life balance, we aren't able to offer extended time off between June and September.
