McMaster Children’s Hospital (MCH) is part of the Hamilton Health Sciences' family of hospitals. MCH serves the special and unique healthcare needs of children using a family-centred model of care.

The Pediatric Respiratory Therapist is part of the interdisciplinary team that provides direct patient care across the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Services and Acute Inpatients Units.

The Pediatric Respiratory Therapist is part of the interdisciplinary team that provides direct patient care across the Pediatric Intensive Care Unit, Emergency Services and Acute Inpatients Units.



Under general supervision is assigned to the special care areas and is responsible for Respiratory care in these areas. Education of others including students, RNs and other health care professionals at the bedside or in a formal setting. Other duties as may be assigned.

1. Recent clinical pediatric experience

2. Graduate of an accredited program in Respiratory Therapy

3. Current Registration with the College of Respiratory Therapists of Ontario

4. Successful Completion of the Canadian Board of Respiratory Care (CBRC) exam

5. Demonstrated interpersonal, communication and teamwork skills

6. Certified in NRP and PALS

7. Demonstrate the philosophy of Family Centered Care

8. Demonstrate knowledge of developmental care

9. Willingness to precept respiratory therapy clinical students

10. Demonstrated commitment to lifelong learning



As a condition of employment, you are required to submit proof of full COVID-19 vaccination to Employee Health Services.
