- Post-secondary degree, diploma or certificate in Workplace Safety and Health or a combination of education and experience will be considered

- Experience working with other agencies and departments, including the Workers Compensation Board, Manitoba Public Insurance, Workplace Safety and Health, Labour Relations, Human Resources, Supportive Employment, Labour representatives (union).

- Experience in program development and implementation

- Experience reviewing WCB employer reports and other related disability/compensation claims (MPI)

- Effective verbal communication skills, including active/empathic listening, mediation, and negotiation skills

- Technical Skills, including Microsoft Office, or related electronic word processing / database management systems, data analysis and electronic file management

- Superior organization and time management skills

- Ability to maintain a professional disposition while dealing with individuals in distress

- Ability to work as part of a team and maintain effective and positive relationships with diverse stakeholders

- Strong written commuication skills

Duties



Reporting to the Safety, Health and Wellness Manager, the Return to Work Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of staff wellness programs. As a member of this program team, the Return To Work Coordinator manages claim activities by initiating and maintaining contact with claimants, management and Labour (as required), ensuring the effective management of the claim file. The incumbent assists and supports employees by providing information about accessing benefits/programs such as Workers Compensation, Long Term Disability, insurance providers, supportive employment, or any other assistance program.
