Calgary Jewish Federation
Calgary Jewish Federation seeks a dynamic, motivated JAC (Jewish Adult Calgary) and Hillel Calgary professional to serve adults under 40. The part-time coordinator will be an experienced relationship builder and have a strong understanding of young adult engagement and philanthropy as they relate to the Jewish community, and have strong understanding of Jewish religion and culture as well as issues related to Israel and international Jewry.
Source and work with the JAC and Hillel lay leadership on initiatives including, but not limited to, event programming and facilitation, fundraising and leadership development.
Outreach, engagement, education, and program facilitation on Israel advocacy and battling antisemitism.
Engage with students from many of Calgary’s post-secondary institutions and organize programming and presence on various campuses.
Work with chaplaincy at UCalgary’s Faith and Spirituality Centre as their Jewish representative.
Empower and develop current and potential volunteer leaders to be advocates for Federation and Federation’s mission.
Build relationships with Jewish partner agencies, synagogues, staff and volunteer leadership
Develop young adult giving (under 40) for the UJA annual campaign and identify potential donors.
Support Federation community-wide programming in addition to JAC and Hillel programs and events.
Inspire and cultivate the next generation of Jewish leaders.
Curate opportunities for Jewish engagement and experiences and develop leadership within Jewish Calgary’s umbrella.
The successful candidate will:
Have a pluralistic mindset and warm, welcoming demeanor.
Be open to speaking on Interfaith panels and engaging with the non-Jewish community as a representative of the Jewish community.
Have excellent communication skills.
Have creative engagement ideas.
Be available evenings and Sundays when needed.
Be highly organized.
