Your Opportunity:

As a Registered EMT - Paramedic, Opioid Prevention Services, you will be a part of an Overdose Prevention Team mobile services for Lethbridge and area with experience in harm reduction opioid treatment. You will treat and support patients by administering medications, advanced life support (ALS) airway adjuncts and electrical therapy. You may also interface with other EMS crews in delivering clinical care during patient transport or at emergency scenes.


As an EMT Supervised Consumption Services, you will provide emergency service and paramedic interventions within a harm reduction model at a supervised consumption site offered at the Sheldon M Chumir Health Centre.

The role includes comprehensive physical and mental health assessments, delivery of harm reduction supplies, supervised consumption clinical interventions and education, naloxone distribution, and other health education and support through the Safeworks program. Other duties may include immunizations, distribution of safer sex and drug use supplies, and basic wound care.

Required Qualifications:

Completion of an accredited Primary Care Paramedic program. Active registration with Alberta College of Paramedics (ACP) as Primary Care Paramedic. Current Basic Cardiac Life Support - Healthcare Provider (BCLS-HCP). Completion of the Functional Abilities Recruitment Evaluation (F.A.R.E.) test taken no more than six months from the application date.

Preferred Qualifications:

Experience in harm reduction opioid treatment preferred.
