Parks, Recreation and Property Management Department

is recruiting for the following position:


(Casual, Part Time)

The primary duties of the Arena Attendant position include:

• Sweeping and mopping

• Cleaning whiteware, glass, mirrors

• Cleaning hallways, emptying garbage

• Cleaning parking lot and surrounding facility areas

• Assisting duty Operation staff with various other duties as assigned

Additional duties may include assisting with the public, helping staff with hockey nets, shoveling snow, moving tables and chairs, assisting with room set-up requirements, and any other duties as assigned.


• Shifts may take place at Joe Thornton Community Centre (JTCC) or Memorial Arena depending on staffing requirements

• Flexibility is a must, as shift assignments may change depending on facility demands and staff availability (shifts to be scheduled between 8am and midnight; shift lengths vary from 4 hours to 8 hours)

• Uniform requirements: steel-toed boots are mandatory, plain navy blue shirt / t-shirt / hoodie (no logos), navy pants, navy jacket (if already owned), ball cap is acceptable (no inappropriate logos)


• Knowledge of arenas and basic operational functions

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to deal with the public

• Ability to perform physical duties of the position

• Ability to follow instructions and operate various related cleaning equipment

• Arena, event related, and customer service experience would be an asset

• Current First Aid / CPR would be an asset

Rate of Pay: Applicable Minimum Wage
