Trading Business Management (''TBM'') proactively supports TD Securities' Global Markets businesses to achieve sustainable strategies, supervision, operating practices and governance aligned with regulatory requirements, Bank policies and risk appetite.

The TBM Governance and Control team is an assurance function accountable to ensure the business (1A) has adequately considered, managed and mitigated the risks in day-to-day activities, operations, products and services, and is operating within risk appetite. The team's specific accountabilities include:

- Management of Global Markets Operational Risk programs including Internal Risk Event Reporting, pRCSA / QC Testing, Key Indicators, Change Risk Assessment and Business Change Review Monitoring & Testing and Scenario Analysis / External Loss Event Assessment;

- Stewardship for Global Markets responsible to develop, communicate and implement a holistic strategy for TDS' specific data governance / stewardship function in support of and integrated with the overall TDS business strategy;

- Responsible for Global Markets Model Risk and Algorithmic Trading governance and control programs;

- Coordinate Business Control Programs for regulations with ongoing attestations - including Volcker, Swap Dealer, MiFID II, and Global Codes of Conduct (FX, MM, Metals);

- Coordination of examinations and findings resolution monitoring / reporting as Global Markets Liaison with Internal Audit, Compliance, and OSFI.

Job Description

Reporting to the Lead Data Steward, Global Markets, the Manager will work to ensure that Global Markets deliverables for Data Strategy are met as per the requirements set out by the Chief Data Office (CDO). This experienced data professional will have expertise in data management as well as experience in Global Markets. The successful candidate will have the skills to foster and grow strong relationships, across all levels of Management, and influence change.

Job Accountabilities:

- Assist in the implementation of data governance and control within Global Markets and ensuring the business is compliant with the Policy and Standards, identifying and escalating current and emerging data related risk

- Assist in Global Markets alignment to the TDS Strategy for Data and Analytics and adherence to the TDS Data and Information Management Policy and Standards

- Ensure the alignment of data management processes and practices within each business unit

- Contribute to the strategic direction of the data governance / management function in Global Markets and assist in the development and implementation of strategies in support of its overall data strategy.

- Act as a delegate for the Lead Data Steward in representing Global Markets on the TDS Data Council.

- Creation, maintenance, and monitoring of measures and metrics used to track the data quality in adherence to the Standards

- Assist in overseeing the execution of day-to-day data management activities

- Maintain an understanding of Global Markets objectives and data requirements, as well as TDS CDO data management capabilities

- Provide advice and guidance to data-related projects within Global Markets

- Recognized as a subject matter expert with in-depth and/or breadth of expertise in the Data Management of Global Markets.

- Provide support to Risk Management activities that directly relate to Data Asset Risk such as process Risk and Control Self-Assessment.

- Keep abreast of emerging issues, trends, and evolving regulatory requirements and assess potential impacts

- Contribute to a culture of risk management and control, supported by effective processes in alignment with risk appetite

- Establish a strong culture of commitment and ownership within the team.

- Demonstrate TD Framework and shared commitments in daily activities.


- Knowledge of data governance/data management practices, enterprise data policy, standards & strategy

- Knowledge of LOB data strategy, data risk management, and data life cycle management

- Skill in using analytical software tools, data analysis methods and reporting techniques

- Skill in using computer applications including MS Office

- Ability to communicate effectively in both oral and written form

- Ability to work collaboratively and build relationships

- Ability to work successfully as a member of a team and independently

- Ability to exercise sound judgement in making decisions

- Ability to analyze, organize and prioritize work while meeting multiple deadlines

- Ability to contribute to strategic direction of the function and provide advice to senior leadership


- Undergraduate degree

- 7+ years relevant experience
