In this newly created role, reporting to the EVP, Personal Insurance with a matrix reporting relationship to the Regional Vice President, Commercial Insurance, you will be responsible for oversight of personal insurance in your designated region by providing insight and recommending business strategies to produce profitable growth.  This role is fully accountable for attaining the Personal Insurance business plan targets within their designated region, through work in the following areas:



Broker Management



- Execute action plans, monitor results, and taking corrective action, where necessary.



- Manage the referral of complex underwriting accounts, including the application of personal authority and accountability for underwriting results and work closely with Personal Lines Underwriting to resolve issues



Relationship Management



- Work closely with Business Development, Commercial Operations and Regional Vice President responsible for the region.



- Stay abreast of changes in the Personal lines insurance, new products, rates, laws and regulations for their designation region.



- Develop and maintain effective working relationships with applicable and appropriate government and industry regulatory bodies, where applicable



Operational Planning & Business Plan Execution



- Contribute Personal Insurance perspective in the development of the regional strategies.



- Support development and monitoring of the annual operating plan.



- Develop the applicable action plans and supporting budget for designated region



- Prepare required business reporting - monthly profit & loss, new business, retention, loss ratio and expense ratio, quality of business, risk distribution and aggregation



Portfolio Analysis



- Represent your designated region and participate in product and pricing rate indication and rate taking cycle



- Conduct rate reviews and analysis



- Analyze the financial results of the channel and recommend corrective action as required



Broker Liaison



- Accountable for providing customer service related feedback to the Broker Call Centrebased on Broker experience  



- Collaborate and provide regional perspective in decisions about our Personal Insurance underwriting practices, policies, and procedure.



Your Skills & Experience: 



- University degree in a related field of study (e.g. Business, Commerce, Actuarial Studies, Math, Economics, etc).



- CIP designation.



- 10+ years of Canadian Property & Casualty Insurance



- Creative problem-solving abilities



- Ability to use data to help form decisions from an execution perspective



- Excellent communication and organizational skills



- Effective Communication and Relationship Management skills.



- Team player adaptable to a rapidly changing environment.
