We are looking for a Circular Economy Specialist to join our team.

The successful candidate will contribute to the development of Dillon’s emerging circular economy services to both public and private sector clients within a variety of disciplines. This exciting role includes delivering projects that provide strategic advice and guidance on programs and policies that will accelerate the development of a circular economy in Canada. The successful candidate will support project management, project delivery and business development activities related to Dillon’s circular economy service offerings. The nature of the role is dynamic and the scope of responsibilities may change from time to time to support evolving business needs.

This position is available at any one of our Dillon offices across Canada.


Project Management (92%)

Manage multiple simultaneous projects related to circular economy involving a variety of experts from across business units and disciplines, to provide innovative solutions through a circular lens

Contribute to project teams providing expertise based on evidence, insight, analysis and an understanding of client needs, in the development of plans, programs, policies and solutions focused on implementing circular economy principles

Act as main point of contact/client liaison to communicate technical and project management information to client teams

Maintain strong client relationships

Business Development (5%)

Develop and enhance relationships with new and existing public and private sector clients to promote Dillon’s services related to circular economy including the preparation of proposals, white papers and client presentations

Contribute to Dillon’s corporate profile by drafting external facing communications

Identify business development opportunities across platforms and events

Work with account managers and experts across business units to identify opportunities to meet client needs

Learning and Development (3%)

Actively participate in the career development of peers and junior staff including providing technical direction, training recommendations, coaching and mentoring.

Contributions to Dillon's corporate profile through active participation in professional associations and committees


What you will need to succeed

Bachelor’s degree in engineering, planning, business administration, economics or a sustainability focused program

A minimum of five years of relevant work experience


CE expertise

Advanced knowledge of circular economy principles, strategies and solutions across sectors and industries for public and private actors

Proven ability to apply systems thinking to develop circular strategies and solutions

Knowledge of how to apply circular solutions to related areas of expertise including sustainability, climate change mitigation and supply chain resilience

Strong applied research and innovation capabilities

Technical proficiency in several or many of the following will be considered an asset: material flow modeling, lifecycle assessment, total cost of ownership assessment, technology assessments, business case assessment, business model development and socio-economic impact assessment

Experience with application of innovation, transition, risk and change management are considered an asset

Project Management and Stakeholder Engagement

Proven ability to manage and deliver projects on time and on budget

Excellent strategic, conceptual and analytical skills in delivering innovative solutions to projects

Excellent oral and written communication skills including the ability to write concise reports and give engaging presentations

Demonstrated capabilities in multidisciplinary teamwork as well as the ability to work independently

Exceptional problem solving and critical thinking skills

Committed to a culture of quality including a keen attention to detail

Experience with partnership building and conflict resolution
