They lead continuous improvement projects within the department, from initiation through to completion. Additionally, they are responsible for managing the budget, for procurement, setting and meeting timelines, coordinating storage architecture, and the engineering and implementation of staff. They are able to work on a complex, massive scale for the current storage environment, and will ensure that the integrity of the environment is maintained as new technology solutions are implemented. The Senior Storage Administrator is involved in short and medium-term tactical and strategic technology recommendations to the IT Leadership Team. The successful individual needs an in-depth understanding of storage solutions for high availability technologies, disaster recovery solutions, and block-based NAS, SAN, and archive technologies. They are capable of hands-on administration for the implementation, troubleshooting, remediation, and day-to-day administrative work as it relates to a senior role, including supporting and mentoring junior staff.
