Position purpose:

Reporting to the Chief Administrative Officer, provides human resources planning and coordination, and acts as a strategic advisor to the Faculty’s CAO and senior management on all issues related to the sound management of human resources operations across all employee groups. Manages the day-to-day human resources administrative functions to support the Faculty’s teaching and research activities. Liaises between senior management, other employee groups, and central Human Resources to ensure that resources are optimized and best practices employed at all times.

In this role you will:

Undertake Human Resources planning and continuous improvement initiatives

On behalf of the Faculty of Arts, liaise between academic labour relations stakeholders and Faculty Affairs on matters relating to collective agreements and workload

Manage all Faculty of Arts operations that relate to compensation, recruitment, HR systems, records management, leave management, and reporting, in collaboration with key contacts in the central Human Resources service.

What you will bring:

University degree in HR, business administration, or a related discipline, or an equivalent combination education and work experience

Seven (7) years’ experience in overseeing HR operations

Three years’ experience as a supervisor

Experience in working with systems administration and an integrated database

Experience in interpreting and explaining complex policies and procedures

Ability to successfully communicate with numerous stakeholders of different levels

Strong organizational skills and ability to multitask

Bilingualism – French and English (spoken and written)
