Position purpose:

Reporting to the Director, International Market Development, leads market development activities in China through continued market intelligence efforts, the development and implementation of enrolment strategies and tactics targeted towards said geographical region, including measuring and assessing the return on investments of institutional efforts deployed.

Responsible for identifying and fostering meaningful on and off-campus partnerships both domestically and abroad in specifically assigned geographical regions, with the ultimate goals of advancing the University’s international strategic enrolment efforts, generating revenue, and raising the University’s international profile.

Provides information and advice to all forms of prospective international partners, including students at all levels of study, and participates in the development, planning, and preparation of broader strategies.

Represents the University at various international functions in China.

What you will bring:

Undergraduate degree in business, marketing, international relations or other relevant fields.

Minimum of 5 years of related experience, whether in the international education sector, through business and partnership development, marketing, or other similar experiences.

Demonstrated success in business development activities, preferably in the international education setting, with proven ability to innovate and create long term mutually beneficial relationships.

Demonstrated experience in budget and project management.

Proven experience with the use of analytical methods for evaluation purposes.

Understanding of nature and needs of education institutions around the world (at all levels of study), as well as public sector players.

Excellent communication skills to interact with both on- and off-campus team members.

Motivated and driven to identify and develop new opportunities and business relationships.

Abilities in creating viable budget scenarios and financial planning.

Proactive, autonomous and able to work with limited supervision.

Ability and willingness to travel both domestically and abroad as well work outside of regular business hours or on weekends.

Be comfortable to participate in networking activities, luncheons and public relations events.

Ability to converse fluently in Mandarin, in both spoken and written communication.

Fluency in at least one of the official languages of Canada (English and/or French).
