Job Title: Bookstore - Buyers Assistant: Course Materials/STDT3

Wage/Salary: $14.25/hr

Work Schedule: Up to 19 hrs/week Monday-Saturday (up to 30 hrs/week during summer).

Location: On Site.

Number of Openings: 3

Start Date: ASAP



Job Description:Duties & Responsibilities:

Receive merchandise.

Verify quantity and quality of mechanize and communicate with staff any discrepancies.

Unload and price merchandise by the standards of the individual department.

Route merchandise to the correct departments in a timely manner.

Ensure all paperwork is turned in promptly.

Under the direction of the Manager update storage locations for merchandise in Ratex.



Assist the staff with daily workflow, setting priorities and ensuring the performance and accuracy of all daily duties. Attend and contribute to departmental meetings when possible.

Perform other related duties as assigned.



Qualifications:

Must be able to lift 50lbs assisted and carry 25lb.

Must pay UC San Diego student services fees each quarter working (must pay Spring 2021 UC San Diego student services fees or be an incoming Fall 2021 new or re-admit to work summer).



Qualifications:

Digital photography experience.

Familiarity with Apple computer hardware and software programs - particularly Illustrator, Photoshop, and InDesign.

Internet browser fluency.

Knowledge of how social media plays a role in business marketing.

Knowledge about how and when to use these file formats: JPEG, GIF, TIFF, EPS, PDF, PNG.

An excellent eye for applying your creative design skills to layout, print materials, and web site.

An understanding about the marketing effects of engaging social media followers.

Experience successfully meeting concurrent deadlines.

Must be personable, detail oriented, reliable, self-starter, trustworthy, productive, and have excellent problem-solving skills.

Willing and available to work during quarter breaks, holiday breaks and the summer.

Must have excellent organizational, telephone, writing, email, interpersonal, and grammar skills.

Ability to successfully function within the parameters of strict deadlines.
