Reporting to the Financial Reporting Manager, this position is responsible to provide financial and accounting support for various non-regulated entities. Responsibilities

Maintain accounting records of fully operating companies; coordinate the recording and reconciliation of various subsidiary bank accounts and prepare, set up and review costing system entries, journal vouchers, and relevant financial reports for accuracy, justifiability and completeness.

Set up capital project costing structures and coordinate job closing sign offs with Project Managers.

Prepare project capital and expense reporting on a monthly basis, and participate in adhoc reporting and analysis requests.

Compile, allocate and analyze historical records of project cost components for the purposes of rate setting.

Participate in the development of budgets in association with each entity, including assisting in the preparation of budget projections for discussion and approval,

Prepare working papers and analysis for the interim and year-end audit reporting requirements and respond to internal and external audit requests and inquiries. Respond to a variety of inquiries from management and operations staff, external auditors and government agencies. Act as a resource for procedural matters to other staff within the organization.

Apply basic accounting principles as well as knowledge of accounting procedures and practices to accurately assess information and determine required action to be taken in resolving relevant problems and generating desired results. Requirements

Accounting Diploma from a recognized program plus three (3) years directly related experience in accounting at an intermediate level with a strong emphasis on financial analysis or an equivalent combination of education, training and experience.

Demonstrated excellent interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Demonstrated ability to gather and analyze information to understand problems and/or opportunities and to develop and implement pragmatic solutions.

Demonstrated ability to independently plan, prioritize and coordinate a diverse set of activities to consistently meet targets in an environment that includes changing priorities, time demands and frequent interruptions.

Demonstrated ability to write concise, clear and grammatically correct communications (reports, memorandums, summaries, etc.) and present them in a professional and diplomatic manner.

Demonstrated ability to use enterprise accounting solutions with intermediate knowledge of Excel, other Microsoft office applications, and of the logistics of accounting and financial report production.
