Enable the execution of Capital Markets Crisis and Continuity Management’s (CCM) global mandate through the following responsibilities:

- Develop and execute on event and scenario planning and management

- Create and test event management protocols

- Educate and inform stakeholders across CM and support areas about event management protocols

- Draft scenario plans and tabletop exercises

- Support tabletop exercise execution, including after-action report production

- Collaborate with CCM colleagues to embed event management into BAU CCM practices (documentation, testing, etc.)

- Identify efficiency opportunities and process improvements by analyzing data; automate and streamline processes and controls in support of creating capacity for further innovation across the team

- Collaborate with other CCM roles cross-jurisdictionally; accountable for: All CM Business Continuity Plan and Business Impact Analysis updates, reviews, and approvals; All CM Business Continuity Plan testing, including D/R, notification system management, life and safety, and 3rd party/vendor testing

- Plan and execute short and long-term initiatives and ad hoc deliverables within given timelines

- Methodically solve problems across a continuum that ranges from simple day-to-day issues to highly complex business, technical or regulatory issues.

- Documenting new or existing processes and improving existing processes by leveraging data

- Communicate effectively (verbal and written) at all levels of the organization, including the most senior executives, including drafting communications and running calls and meetings

- Building positive relationships within GM, I&CB;, and OCOO and across Corporate Support Areas in order to garner support, advice and partnership that enables execution of the role

- Ongoing self-study about GM, Capital Markets, emerging regulatory and industry issues, BMO business priorities, and best practices

** Note: this role is within the Capital Markets business, in the Office of the Chief Operating Officer.  The business operates at a quick pace with exceptional quality and high expectations; as such the role requires the same pace coupled with high quality execution of deliverables.

- Intermediate to advanced coding skills in 1-2 languages

- Undergraduate degree

- 3 to 7 years’ experience in capital markets, or in business continuity functions within CM

- Intermediate to advanced Office Suite proficiency (including Excel, Visio, and VBA)

- Intermediate to advanced programming skills in Python, R, and/or SQL

- Intermediate understanding of Business Continuity Management processes and best practices, or willingness and commitment to self-study to learn these concepts

- Intermediate knowledge of Capital Markets products, services, and systems

- Intermediate knowledge of BMO organization, including CSAs that interact with CM

- Exceptional understanding of intent and purpose of team

- Experienced in and effective at responding to and dealing with significant problems and crises

- Knowledge of the various risks and controls associated with Capital Markets’ business activities
