Rutter Urban Forestry Ltd. - Founded in 2005, RUF has been a solid leader in arboriculture service in the Thunder Bay area. We have a staff of 10 arborists and apprentices that care for trees, shrubs and forests for private, commercial, institutional and municipal clients close to home and throughout the region. We have a very busy spring summer and fall season.
Biothermic Wood Energy Systems Inc. - Founded in 2015,
Biothermic is a national leader in the provision of small scale wood energy systems to all provinces and territories. We design and supply wood heating systems with a focus on solving challenges and providing quality systems that consider forests, efficiency and client satisfaction. We have staff of three with a focus on aggressive growth.
Port Artur Woodcraft – Founded 5 years ago, PAW is a producer of fine furniture, custom millwork and custom projects. PAW uses wood harvested in the urban forest by RUF and creates tables, shelving, beds and other custom works for a ultra-local result.
The successful candidate will be an outgoing and energetic person with an ability to handle complexity and a multitude of tasks. The candidate will also share a passion for ethical and smart use of forest resources to work towards broad environmental and social improvement. Duties are consistent with the typical operations of business administration, a list of duties across all three companies would include but are not limited to:
· Daily customer contact by phone and email, arranging appointment schedules for arborists
· Invoicing, Accounts Receivable
· Maintaining records for Health and Safety, fleet maintenance, insurance policies, employee records
· Accounts payable
· Payroll and sales tax remittances
Experience or Qualifications
We feel strongly that attitude, drive and passion are more valuable than education and experience and we encourage applicants to explain why they would be a good fit for our team. The following is a list of training and experience that we would find valuable in a team member:
· College or University education in Business Administration
· Proven experience with accounts receivable and payable
· Knowledge of national sales tax policies and procedures
· Experience using Quickbooks Online
· Demonstrated interpersonal skills and an ability to relate to clients
· Proven ability to handle a complex and active work environment.
· Passion for trees, wood products or renewable energy
We are offering a salary of $35k to $45k per year depending on experience and qualifications. The position is full time, 40 hours per week. Work hours can be flexible as long as the needs of our clients can be met adequately. We require the candidate to work from our office however there may be opportunities for some remote work.
After one year of employment, we offer a benefits package as well as a defined contribution pension plan.
