Up Here magazine is looking for an experienced, creative editor to take our award winning magazine to a new level. The editor takes a key role in developing innovative content relevant to the magazine's print and online audiences, covering the Yukon, the Northwest Territories and Nunavut.
The editor oversees a small editorial team of staff and freelancers responsible for Up Here magazine, the Cold Snaps newsletter, the Up Here website and social media platforms, and works closely with other divisions of the company. He or she reports directly to the publisher. The position is located in Yellowknife, and travel may be involved.
Up Here Publishing offers a competitive salary, comprehensive health benefits,
and three weeks vacation annually, changing to four weeks after five years.
At least five years experience in magazine publishing is preferred. The editor will have proven editorial planning, editing and writing skills. Ideally, the editor will have some northern experience.
Up Here magazine celebrates its 37th anniversary in 2021, and over the years has won numerous awards, including Canada's magazine of the year. Up Here is owned by Up Here Publishing, which also publishes Up Here Business magazine, Move Up Here, and Discover Yellowknife.
