Position Overview

Labofine is a Health Canada licensed and ISO 17025 accredited analytical testing laboratory. We specialize in testing for the NHP, Cosmetics, Food, and Pharma industries. Our routine testing services include Microbiology and Chemistry testing, as well as Method Development. We are part of the Tentamus Group network of laboratories, with a sister lab located in San Diego, California.  

As a growing organization, we are looking for a talented, self-motivated individual to join our Business Development team. This person’s key responsibilities will involve growing our client base in Ontario and the rest of Canada. To be successful in this role,

the selected candidate will need extensive experience in B2B Business Development, ideally within the industries that Labofine serves. This role also requires an individual who is a disciplined self-starter, capable of working autonomously with a remote team. 

Key Responsibilities include

- Lead generation, new business development, lead/prospect follow-up

- Building customer relationships, consulting extensively to assess customer’s needs

- Follow-up throughout the sales and service cycles, delivering high quality client service

- Working closely with the Business Development Director to build client base in assigned territory

- Ensure that customer concerns are addressed and resolved in a positive and friendly manner

- Performing other related duties as assigned by the Business Development Director.

Required Experience, Skills and Abilities:

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a business development role (B2B)

- Minimum 1-2 years of experience working with analytical testing laboratories is considered a strong asset

- Knowledge of NHP, Food, Cosmetics and Pharmaceutical industries

- Excellent negotiation and presentation skills

- Solid verbal communication skills

- Highly motivated to achieve and exceed sales objectives

- Exceptionally self-disciplined and organized

- Competency in MS group of office applications

- Experience working with a CRM

- Self-starter, demonstrates initiative & ambition, team player, hard worker

- Valid Driver’s License and access to a car is an asset

- Must have access to a high speed internet connection, laptop and cell phone


- Teleworking/work-from-home opportunity (must be based in either Toronto, Vancouver, or Calgary, as occasional client visits and sample pickups may be required)

- Conditions of employment to be discussed; Opportunity to work as an independent contractor or salaried employee

- Weekday schedule, Monday to Friday during local business hours.
