You will be responsible for the coordination and completion of predictive and preventative analyzer and/or instrumentation technician maintenance programs and repairs.



You will use your expertise to:



- Participate in our journey to zero safety initiative and respond to emergencies with a focus on the safe and efficient operation of instrumentation and analyzers

- Provide support for a safe, reliable and cost-effective execution of predictive,

preventative and scheduled maintenance work on refinery assets

- Responsible for the coordination, maintenance, troubleshooting, repair, calibration, configuration and enhancement of existing analyzer and instrumentation equipment and systems

- Execute and provide feedback on work orders

- Respond to emergency work call outs in addition to maintaining accurate and up to date records

- Build positive relationships as the SIM cross functional team (CFT) contact person to improve work flow, communication, equipment reliability within our diverse groups

- Ensure appropriate information gathered to assist in the decision-making on competing priorities and plant issues

- Communicate daily work progression and issues and provide input for capital, turnaround, maintenance activities

Must-haves (minimum requirements):



- Five or more years of analyzer and instrumentation work experience

- Programmable logic controller (PLC) experience in an industrial environment

- A High School Diploma or General Education Diploma (GED)

- Strong communication, troubleshooting and analytical skills with the ability to make timely decisions associated with process upsets

- An adaptive work style with an ability to handle multiple priorities, challenging demands and function positively in a dynamic collaborative work environment

- A valid driver’s licence and a clean driving record

Preference for:



- A post-secondary education in instrumentation and control engineering technology (ICET) or equivalent education

- Red Seal certified in Trade Code 447A and technical safety standards association (TSSA) certification

- A deep understanding of Sieman and ABB chromatography analyzers

- A strong understanding of SAP

- Ability to work independently

- Highly motivated to increase critical online analyzer reliability



Where you’ll be working, your work schedule, and other important information:



- You will work out of our Sarnia refinery in Ontario, located at 1900 St. Clair Parkway

- Hours of work are a regular 40-hour work week, Monday to Friday, with the potential for extended work hours based on business needs as well as on-call support during off hours

- You will be required to perform some heavy lifting, use ladders and work on elevated work sites such as scaffolds and towers with the ability to perform in a variety of different environments both indoor and outdoor as well as within confined spaces
