Hours: 37.5 hours per week
Status: Temporary Full-time (1 year)

University Health Network (UHN) is a research hospital affiliated with the University of Toronto and a member of the Toronto Academic Health Science Network. The UHN Biospecimen Services and the Surgical Oncology Prostate and Uro-Oncology Research Unit are unique programs which encompass research biobanking (oncology and non-oncology) and the oversite and execution of industry and investigator-initiated uro-oncology clinical research trials. These combined programs are expanding and have a need for a Financial Analyst II.
Key responsibilities include: Performs analyses on a daily, weekly and/or monthly basis for a range of complex functional centre accounts; Performs complex analyses of financial and/or statistical data and prepares reports and/or commentary for management review and decision making; Prepares and analyzes monthly, quarterly, year-end financial and/or statistical schedules, statements and/or reports for distribution to internal and/or external clients; Assist with the preparation of annual operating budget for assigned directorates; Prepares monthly/quarterly packages for management to facilitate the decision making and financial reporting process
- At a minimum, completion of a University degree in Business Administration or recognized equivalent
- Enrollment in a recognized professional accounting program (e.g. CGA or CMA) OR relevant combination of education and experience
- Minimum three (3) years related experience in an accounting environment with exposure to a range of accounting practices, procedures and principles
- Experience working in a healthcare environment and/or research environment, preferred
- Experience working with healthcare grants, preferred
- Working knowledge of accounting practices, procedures and generally accepted accounting principles
- Skill in accurately performing detailed numerical computations using large amounts of financial and/or statistical data
- Skill in preparing detailed reports
- Demonstrated problem solving skills
- Good organizational and time management skills
- Working knowledge of computer application accounting systems and software applications, preferably in a Microsoft Office environment (i.e., Excel, Word, Access, PowerPoint, Crystal)
- Good oral and written communication skills
- Knowledge of basic leadership practices
- Demonstrated commitment to client service and satisfaction
