Location: Toronto, CanadaL’Activité Mondiale Systèmes de Transport Terrestre fournit des solutions de signalisation ferroviaire pour les grandes lignes et les transports urbains, des systèmes intégrés de communication et de supervision, des solutions billettiques et les services associés.Thales fournit des systèmes de commande de trains par télécommunications (CBTC) et des systèmes d’enclenchement destinés au secteur des transports en commun sur voie ferrée à l'échelle mondiale. Le centre de compétences pour la signalisation ferroviaire urbaine est situé au centre-ville de Toronto.

Nous sommes le plus grand bureau situé au Canada et nous disposons d’un service pour chaque étape du cycle de vie du développement logiciel (SDLC). Cela comprend le logiciel, le matériel, la conception des systèmes, la vérification et la validation, les opérations, etc. Les équipes de services partagés dans les domaines des finances, des ressources humaines et des technologies de l’information sont également situées sur ce site. The Centre of Competence for Urban Rail Signalling is located right before you at mid-town Toronto. As the largest office in Canada, we house a department for every step of the Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC)! This includes Software, Hardware, Systems Design, Verification & Validation, Operations, etc. The supporting corporate shared services teams in Finance, Human Resources and IT is also located at the office. Key Accountabilities:



• Implement and manage projects related to Urban Rail Signalling in accordance with contractual requirements and company processes. Furthermore, to be charged with overall performance/schedule compliance, cash flow and budget of the project while ensuring quality and safety standards are maintained.



• Strategically manage client’s expectations and wants with respective to what is achievable within Thales’ overall business.



• Lead the team to create an appropriately detailed schedule and then use that schedule and critical path to manage the execution of the project.



• Evaluate the need for “out of scope” work in-light of strategic project additional opportunities. Enforcing policies and procedures to ensure no unauthorized work is being conducted. Seek out and secure opportunities for variation orders to increase the project margin.



• Evaluate and report on project “Estimates to Complete” in accordance with company practices thus providing clarity on cost exposures and future labour needs.



• Possess an ability to review and input into the project Risk register. Once risks are established, be accountable for decisions on expenditures of mitigation actions to support the most advantageous option for the company and project’s benefit and success.



• Possess the ability to share vision and demonstrate direction from a leadership perspective, thus fostering a single path for the whole project team. Furthermore to show strength with compassion creating an environment where the project team is motivated and focused on the objective.



• Display strong communications skills ensuring clarity with senior management, the client and the project team.



Key Requirements:



• Degree or Diploma from either a Business or Technical background or equivalent experience



• 5 to 10+ years in railway transportation industry or from Technical/Aerospace field



• 5 to 10+ years of experience as a Project Manager with People Management / Leadership experience



• Experience with P&L; and/or Bid Management



• Previous experience leading international projects in a matrix environment



• Excellent communication skills



• Ability to deliver under pressure
