Job Description
Roles and Responsibilities
Under the direction and supervision of the General Manager, you will:
- Participate in the application process for a new WUSC student;
- Participate in the budgeting process for the WUSC program;
- Participate in training and educational requirements around the WUSC program;
- Coordination of the WUSC selection committee for a new student;
- Completing all required WUSC Canada paperwork;
- Ensuring all necessary supplies are in place for a new student moving into Housing and beginning their first year at UNBC;
- Assisting with all relevant government paperwork;
- Assisting the new student with setting up all medical services required, banking, reviewing public transportation, NUGSS Health & Dental plan services, phone, computer, software requirements, etc. as this is a new student to both UNBC and Canada.
- Assist with any changes to enrollment and course details as needed;
- Assist with purchasing required textbooks and online course materials as needed;
- Assist with orientation and encouraging attendance at UNBC orientation events;
- Provide support around employment searches, resumes, and other job application items;
- Review budget and assist with financial planning;
- Assist with reestablishment of the WUSC Student Led Organization (SLO);
- Recruit new students for the WUSC SLO and coordinate activities, events and awareness campaigns thru the WUSC SLO;
- Maintain professional communication with UNBC, WUSC Canada and outside organizations;
- Any other duties assigned by the General Manager.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
As the successful candidate:
- You are up for the challenge of providing leadership, guidance, and training to our student body and the new student joining us in the WUSC program;
- You are results oriented, have experience bringing about positive change, and you excel at developing and executing plans for success;
- You are a problem-solver and bring solutions to the senior management team;
- Experience in event programming and promotions is ideal but not required;
- You are a positive person, with strong interpersonal skills as demonstrated by your ability to develop and maintain effective working relationships with employees and colleagues;
You will be geographically located in the Prince George area and be able to work on campus
