Job Description
The Immunization Nurse functions within a team of Public Health Practitioners focused on disease prevention through immunization across the region.
These services may be provided in public health centers or public facilities such as malls and schools.
Job Qualifications
Required Qualifications
- Registered or eligible for registration with the Saskatchewan Registered Nurses Association (SRNA)
- Current CPR-C certification as required by the specific service
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
- Access to a reliable vehicle
- Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment
- Knowledge of the SRNA Standards of Practice
- Demonstrated computer skills as required by unit
- Demonstrates knowledge of the nursing process, principles, and practices of immunization
- Ability to initiate and exercise critical thinking and decision-making
- Valid class 5 driver's license
- Ability to be self directed and exercise independent nursing judgment in a community-based environment
- Ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing with clients of varying ages, socio-economic status, and targeted populations
