The person in charge of human resources manages, coordinates, and initiates all the functions and activities of the HR department. He/she oversees recruitment, payroll, health & safety initiatives and benefits management. The role aims to determine the best course of action for all the projects and initiatives at the HR level, in accordance with the global busines strategy, and in collaboration with the HR team and the different heads of all departments.
Responsibilities
- Determine the global human resources management strategy, in relation with the company’s vision.
- Establish a plan of action to reach the short, mid and long term objectives of the company.
- Manage and oversee the HR team with a mentoring approach.
- Exert a positive influence, leadership, and knowledge to manage the different projects.
- Develop and optimize various tools to measure key performance indicators related to manpower (absenteeism, turnover, health and safety, etc.).
- Ensure compliance of practices and decisions related to personnel management with applicable laws and policies and act as an advisor to managers and management in their interpretation.
- Develop and administer the policies and procedures related to workforce management.
- Plan, manage and document the health and safety committee and support its members in the application of the corrective measures agreed upon.
- Conduct various HR projects and initiatives (performance review, training, francization, employee manual, salary scale, social committee, etc.).
- Lead the implementation or review of salary policies, benefit plans or other incentive programs.
Skillls & Qualifications
- University degree in Human Resources Management or Industrial Relations (an asset).
- Experience in a similar role in the food industry.
- Thorough knowledge of laws, regulations and procedures related to labour standards and occupational health and safety.
- Leadership and ability to manage a team.
- Ability to manage multiple projects at the same time.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Ability to meet project deadlines and demonstrate a sense of urgency.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in French/English.
