Everest Hakka House has been a part of the foodscape of Etobicoke’s Mimico neighbourhood for over 7 years, providing highest quality of Indo-Chinese Hakka cuisine to a diverse clientele.Under the stewardship of our master chefs, we provide innovative and inspiring new creations as well as authentic traditional Hakka recipes.

About the Position:

In order to keep up with the constant demand for Hakka cuisine, we require a new specialty cook to join our team. The cook will be responsible for directing and planning food preparation, and will work directly under our master chefs to create meat, fish, vegetarian, and vegan-friendly meals.

Hours: 32 hours per week (6 hours a day, 5 days a week)


4% vacation pay

Language: English

Education: Secondary School graduation certificate.

Experience: 3 to 5 years in Hakka Style cooking.

Job Responsibilities: Plan, prepare, cook, and present full meals in Hakka style.

Alter meals as necessary to meet the individual needs of customers, including those with particular food allergies.

Constantly maintain the restaurant’s high standards of quality in all aspects of the job.

Participate in planning new menus and creating new recipes.

Ensure cleanliness and hygiene standards at the restaurant at all times.

Maintain organization of the store rooms and refrigerators, and ensure that all food products are safely and efficiently stored.

Participate in regular inventory checks and ordering of new supplies.

Job Duties:

- Prepare, season and cook food as directed, meeting dietary requirements where required

- Follow recipes and presentation specifications

- Operate standard kitchen equipment safely and efficiently

- Clean and maintain station in practicing good safety and sanitation

- Oversee kitchen operations

- Maintain inventory and record of food, supplies and equipment

- Adhere to all sanitation and food production codes
