We are seeking a Project Manager to join our team!
The Project Manager is responsible for the overall on site coordination between the clients, site team and sub-contractors.
The Project Manager also holds a supervisory role over more junior members of the project team.
Project Initiation & Planning
Attend and chair handover meetings from the estimating team to the site delivery team
Read and understand obligations and responsibilities under the Prime Contract, and disseminate to the project team
Participate, prepare and review tenders and contracts to achieve advantageous outcomes for a construction project while mitigating risks
Prepare and review "Authority to Let” forms for the construction project to ensure the tender process has been thorough and in accordance with company guidelines, and the let amount is within our budget allowance
Project Execution & Control
Administer the contract and report in line with PAM
Manage and report construction budgets, prepare forecasts and cash flows
Advise Superintendents and project teams on the administration, risk and profitability aspects of a construction project
Facilitate the resolution of disputes
Manage the insurance needs of a construction project, including public liability, professional indemnity and contract works
Review all Sub-Contract Agreements to ensure they have been prepared in accordance with company guidelines
Review and assess new drawing submissions, administer change control procedures
Promote QHSE culture on site
Manage the rectification of defects and satisfactory completion of work
Education & Experience
Minimum of seven years in Project Management, Scheduling, Cost or Quality roles in the general contracting industry
Bachelor Degree or College Diploma in a relevant field
Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred
CCA Gold Seal strongly preferred
CaGBC LEED ® Accredited Professional considered an asset
Professional Membership in CIQS considered an asset
Required Knowledge & Skills
Extensive background in commercial and residential construction techniques, as well as contract administration, claims production and dispute resolution
Strong knowledge of the market including costs of labour and resources as well as the product market
Proven ability to communicate efficiently and effectively lead teams
Experience supervising a small team of employees (1-2) and up to 20 trades
Ability to adapt to change quickly and be flexible in meeting competing deadlines
May require some on-site visits to project locations with minimal possibility of exposure to hazardous materials
