Covenant House Vancouver is seeking a project coordinating superstar. This position will support the building and service expansion at Covenant House Vancouver by providing assistance to our Manager of Technology and Innovation. With excellent organization skills and superior attention to detail, the Project Coordinator will generate work that is consistent with agency processes, values, and timelines, ensuring that team and agency goals are met.
Please note: This is a 18 Month Mat Leave Contract
The Project Coordinator will assist the Manager of Technology & Innovation with the management of a variety of projects including construction projects, renovations, information technology, and other projects as they arise. This person will provide assistance and support, including but not limited to the following tasks:
Oversee the expansion project involving the construction of a new facility in downtown Vancouver and the renovation of an existing property.
Work closely with a team of consultants and internal stakeholders to ensure that the facilities are developed according to the project goals and visions.
Assist the Technology & Innovation Manager with various projects and improvements in order to facilitate operations.
Coordinate meetings in relation to the expansion project, generate and distribute meeting agendas, pre-meeting preparation, attend meetings and generate meeting minutes, and follow up on action items as required.
Create clearly written, professional, and functional documents free of errors.
Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders to ensure commitments, deadlines, and communications are kept on track.
Organize and file team documents within our document management system.
Other duties as assigned.
Effective communication, professionalism, and a polished presence coupled with strong “soft skills” such as diplomacy and other people skills are key competencies required for this position, as interaction and working with all types and level of people is essential.
Experience in a project management environment or department a strong asset.
Excellent verbal communication and interpersonal skills.
Strong computer skills using SharePoint, Microsoft Office and Excel.
Highly proactive, organized, able to multi-task and prioritize to meet deadlines.
Detail oriented and takes pride in the standards set by Covenant House.
Reliable team player who takes initiative to ensure that goals are met.
Positive attitude and professional demeanor.
College Certificate/Diploma in Project Management or related area is an asset.
