As a Health,
Safety & Environment Summer Co-op working at our Mondelez Manufacturing facility in Hamilton, you will support a variety of HSE initiatives and projects, including closing out gaps identified in our HSE audit:
Coordinating and updating task specific Risk Assessments and participate in our Ergonomic and Occupational Hygiene Programs in conjunction with department teams
Support with HSE administrative task and Participate actively in HSE Campaigns, Environmental and Sustainability awareness initiatives/communication at the Plant
Participate in the investigation of workplace incidents and ensure corrective actions to eliminate root causes are completed
Participate in all HSE Training and IL6S work process improvements, updating of Plant KPI’s, including supporting new-hire employee orientations as required
Participate on HSE project teams as required within the facility.
Who do we look for?
We are looking for driven, energetic and creative people who are currently enrolled in a University undergraduate degree in Occupational Health & Safety (Occupational Hygiene, Kinesiology & Ergonomics etc.) a similar discipline, and possess knowledge of OH&S;, provincial legislation and codes. You will have exposure to both HSE and manufacturing operations by supporting the development and execution of health, safety and environment initiatives.

Duration: Winter 4 months
Currently enrolled in a university level undergraduate degree program in Occupational Health & Safety (Occupational Hygiene, Kinesiology & Ergonomics etc.) or a similar discipline
Knowledge of OHS provincial legislation and codes
Pro-active and dynamic attitude focused on delivering results
Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment
Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including ability to communicate effectively with all levels of the organization
Ability to work under minimal supervision while taking direction from experienced colleagues.
Proficiency with all Microsoft Applications (i.e. Word, Excel, and Outlook)
Previous manufacturing experience will be considered an asset
No Relocation support available, however for candidates voluntarily moving internationally some minimal support is offered through our Volunteer International Transfer Policy
