About Delight Food Inc.

Delight Food Inc. is the central warehouse and distribution operation servicing multiple South Asian specialty grocery retail locations across the Greater Toronto Area. We specialize in the procurement and distribution of South Asian grocery products, specialty produce, imported dry goods, and ethnic food items serving the South Asian community.

Job Duties

- Assign projects and programs to the purchasing and warehouse departments across the organization
- Coordinate activities of personnel engaged in buying, selling, and distributing South Asian grocery products, specialty produce, imported dry goods, and related supplies
- Evaluate daily operations
- Plan and control budget and expenditures
- Plan and organize daily operations
- Review purchase order claims and contracts to determine compliance with company policy
- Hire, train, direct, and motivate staff
- Plan, develop, and implement purchasing policies and procedures
- Oversee the evaluation of the cost and quality of South Asian food products, specialty produce, and imported ethnic food items sourced from domestic and international suppliers
- Manage contracts and negotiate directly with South Asian and international ethnic food suppliers and distributors
- Oversee the analysis of data and information
- Oversee the preparation of reports




- Advise senior management
- Organize and maintain inventory of South Asian grocery products, specialty produce, imported dry goods, and ethnic food items across all store locations

Employment Requirements

- Bachelor's degree in business administration, commerce, supply chain management, or a related field is required
- 3 to less than 5 years of progressive experience in purchasing, procurement, or supply chain management is required
- Proven experience dealing directly with South Asian and international ethnic food suppliers and vendors is required
- Strong understanding of South Asian food categories including fresh produce, lentils, flours, spices, dairy products, frozen foods, and packaged ethnic food items is required
- Strong understanding of South Asian cultural buying patterns is required
- Experience managing price volatility for imported and specialty South Asian food products is required
- Experience negotiating contract terms with ethnic and international food suppliers is required
- Proficiency with enterprise resource planning (ERP) software is required
- Proficiency with Microsoft Excel is required
- Supply Chain Management Professional (SCMP) designation is an asset
