Safa & Marwa is a private not-for profit Islamic School in its 28th year of operation located in central Mississauga. Safa & Marwa School is registered by the Ontario Ministry of Education and we offer a fully accredited program from Junior Kindergarten to Grade 12.

We are currently looking for a qualified Physical Education supply teacher.

Requirements:

- Strong organizational and time-management skills, with the ability to confidently multi-task and translate school goals and teaching strategies into effective daily practice.
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, demonstrating approachability and professionalism when engaging with students, parents, and colleagues.
- Demonstrated ability to thrive in a dynamic, growing school environment, showing flexibility, initiative, and a commitment to continuous improvement.
- Thorough knowledge of the Ontario Curriculum, including current pedagogical practices and assessment strategies relevant to Health & Physical Education.
- Commitment to ongoing professional learning, including active research and development within the field of physical education, health, and student wellness.
- Robust classroom and gymnasium management skills, including the ability to maintain safety standards, enforce expectations, and follow through with consistent discipline.
- Minimum of a Bachelor’s degree, preferably in Physical Education, Kinesiology, or a related field, plus a Bachelor of Education or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience.
- Understanding of Islamic values, practices, and school culture,



with the ability to support and respect the school’s mission and ethos.
- Ontario College of Teachers (OCT) certification is an asset, particularly in Health & Physical Education (H&PE;).

Responsibilities:

- The position is responsible for teaching physical education in the junior, senior and high school as well as running any after school athletic program. Coaching of school sports teams is also required.
- Quarterly reports to high school parents through a written report card and an interview at the Parent/teacher interviews.
- As part of the high school and full faculty contribute to pedagogical, child and curriculum study and planning.
- Perform a designated number of duties, recess and administrative, in addition to teaching responsibilities.
- Attend all faculty meetings and assist with open houses and other school events wherever possible.
