Position Description



Reporting directly to the Director of Business Development, the Program Coordinator is responsible for creating a zero harm environment, ensuring contract and regulatory compliance, completing monthly reporting requirements, assisting in supervision of on-site staff and maintaining efficient day-to-day operations.



Key Accountabilities



- Support the site’s Environmental Management System (EMS) and our Occupational Health and Safety (OH&S;) Program

- Ensure regulatory compliance including annual reporting, monthly reporting and project development

- Meet with external customers to evaluate reclamation needs and create project specifications to meet those needs



- Attend and participate in industry associations such as the Canadian Land Reclamation Association (Ontario Chapter) and the Ontario Mining Association

- Monitor inventory levels at all project sites

- Assist with on-site operations to ensure compliance with corporate policies and procedures, regulatory requirements and to customer specifications with a significant focus on health and safety

- Assist with daily operations and provide leadership to the operating team as required

- Lead, motivate and develop direct reports utilizing Annual Performance Reviews, Job Task Observations (JTO’s) and Hazard Assessments to reinforce or correct specific behaviors

- Work with on-site staff to prioritize incoming work notifications and ensure that all scheduled work is completed in the allocated time

- Maintain and implement facility standard operating procedures (SOP’s)

- Identify and recommend continuous improvements to processes and procedures

- Help to develop production and delivery schedules while maintaining standard costs and managing inventory

- Take a leading role in safety, maintenance and housekeeping in accordance with company and regulatory requirements

- Supervise and periodically inspect repairs carried out by contractors/vendors to verify the quality of maintenance being performed and the operating condition of the equipment

- Report all incidents, safety infractions, non-compliance issues and participate in the investigation and development of corrective actions

- Monitor and make recommendations regarding improved safety performance

- Ensure all visitors to the site (contractors, brokers, etc.) are complying with site and corporate safety policies

- Search for and pursue new business opportunities

- Develop constructive relationships with key customers and regulatory agencies

- Ensure contractor compliance when on-site to all corporate and client requirements utilizing Field Level Hazard Assessments and Safe Work Permits as required



Experience & Education



- Post-secondary education in a Technical or Environmental program

- Minimum of 3-5 years in a supervisory capacity is required

- Related operational experience preferred with knowledge of waste management and environmental services

- Strong interpersonal and communication skills are essential for collaboration with cross-functional teams

- Knowledge of production management processes, related equipment and preventative maintenance principles

- Ability to develop safe operating procedures

- Computer skills including Microsoft Excel, Word, Outlook, SAP and Ceridian

- Proven organization, time management and problem solving skills

- Willingness to learn and develop new skills and expand knowledge through duties assigned by the Director of Business Development

- Ability to work evenings and/or weekends, if required

- Valid driver’s license





Working Conditions



The Program Coordinator will work out of the Sudbury facility with infrequent travel to Head Office in Burlington, other Ontario facilities or customer locations as required. Working in the natural environmental conditions as required
